As a traditional type of girl, there is nothing I like more than flowers. Perhaps the only thing better than buying or growing flowers, is being given flowers! I don’t know why it is such a thrill to be bought flowers. Perhaps it is the thought that someone has spent their money on you in a way that shows that they are interested in nothing other than your favour, or perhaps it is the romantic connotations attached, and the old fashioned feel that is attached to the gesture. Either way, it is my favourite present anyone can ever buy me.

I have lots of different favourites, depending on the circumstances. If I am out for a walk, I love nothing more than seeing lots of natural and wild flowers as I walk through the countryside. I love Fox Gloves, and I absolutely adore Dandelions! They always strike me as a very seventies flower, I guess because of their vivid and slightly saturated colour! I also love to see a field full of tiny Daisies because it reminds me of being at junior school!

When it comes to receiving flowers though, there is only one type to hanker after, particularly if a man is buying. If a man buys me flowers he better buy me roses. There is no alternative, if someone wants to win my heart, and they want to show the romantic side of their nature, then they need to do it with a rose!

Home gardening can be very rewarding and it really isn’t that hard! Here’s some tips for growing any kind of plant including flowers, herbs and vegetables that are sure to help you develop your green thumb.

There are 3 basic things that you need to know to succeed in home gardening and that is that plants need light, water and soil to survive. If any one of these 3 elements is not adequate, it will result in weak plants. Luckily, it is pretty easy to get enough of all for your plants and the plants themselves usually come with directions on what they need.

Light

In general, most plants need 6 to 8 hours of sunlight. Some more and some less so be sure to read the tags that come with your plants for best results! Study your yard or garden area throughout the day to figure out how much sun it really gets and be sure to place your plants where they will have the best chance of thriving. You can buy plants that like full sun,. partial sun and shade so there are plants that will be happy in every type of yard or garden.

Water

One of the most important home gardening tips has to do with water. Plants need water to survive but too much of it is a bad thing! You want to be sure they get enough water so that the soil is not hard and dry, but you never want to have standing water around your plant. Plants in containers will need to be watered more than those in the ground and more watering is necessary in summer months. When watering try not to splash water on the leaves and petals of your plants as this can promote disease – a garden soaker hose is ideal for this.

Soil

Plants need nutrient which they typically get from the soil. Be sure to use a rich soil that is fortified with fertilizer appropriate for what you are planting. You want your soil to be a bit loose so the roots can easily spread and grow. Nutrients can also be delivered to plants through water which is what hydroponic gardening is based on. With hydropinics you grow plants in a water solution – no soil needed!

So, you see, home gardening is not that difficult – just start off slowly and you’ll be growing lush, vibrant plants in not time!

Have you ever walked through your home and thought that it looked empty? Or quite the opposite, it looked overcrowded. Or you thought that your garden looked a little bit off. People tend to buy a lot of things they don’t need just out of habit. So what do you actually need in your home and garden? I think we can explain a few necessities step by step.

Now when we talk about home and garden most people think of a house somewhere in the province. That doesn’t have to be the case; many urban homes have a backyard that is now a beautiful garden. So what do you actually need, and why do you need it?

First things that you need for your home and garden are the things you use. So those are more needed than decorations and furnishings, but a home and garden also will look empty without some decorations. So let’s start with the useful stuff. First thing anybody buys for their home are kitchen appliances. We can’t live without food so they are necessary. So you basically need an oven, a refrigerator and a few other kitchen appliances to get you started. Next thing you need would be a barbecue set for summer days. Well it’s not a necessity for home and garden to function but it’s big plus. So what else do you need, from things that are useful there are millions I could count but basically it comes down to kitchen appliances and few regular appliances like vacuum cleaner and an iron. The rest for your home and garden are decorations. For your home and garden to look nice but not overcrowded, nor empty. You need to supply a few basic necessities and then add some nice decorations, decorations that make your home and garden look lively and welcoming but not aggressive or filled up.

So what do you need to make your home and garden look like that? All you need are little things. Few nice curtains, couple of pillows, mirrors, candles, lamps and a rug here and there will do the job. As for the garden, maybe a pond you can find for $30-$40. Few rocking chairs and some night light for nice evenings. And you have a home and garden that are both practical and nice. And why am I stressing out the overcrowding part, because it would look ugly, and because you don’t need to spend money on all those things. You can make your home and garden look beautiful and practical with a small budget. And to make it into an even smaller budget you need to shop smart. Beauty isn’t about money, it’s about style. And you can’t buy style no matter how much money you have. So how do you make your home and garden fully equipped for everyday use and at the same time make it beautiful at a low budget. Try shopping online; find the best price for anything you want for your home and garden. Don’t run around looking for things you don’t need, figure out what you need and find it online for the best price that you can afford.
